I couldn’t post Kaiserin’s trick video in the blog when I tried the other day, but I think I can post a link to it on YouTube! It is a bit long (8 minutes) because there are a lot of categories you have to cover but stay watching, I think the best parts are near the end. 🙂 Hopefully this link works:
Two weeks ago we submitted a video to try to get our Do More With Your Dog trick dog champion title. We already have the other 4 levels but this is the highest. Last week we found out we passed. Today Kaiserin’s medal, ribbon and certificate arrived in the mail so she is officially a trick dog champion. We did all the tricks with 3 legs and I hope it shows what a tripawd can accomplish! I am so proud of my girl! ❤️ For those who are reluctant to amputate and worry what the future holds. The future can truly hold great things!
Today Kaiserin’s first Trick Dog Titke from Do More With Your Dog arrived on the mail. All her Novice level tricks were done with three legs. A year ago I thought her life was over and she wouldn’t be able to do much anymore. Today we got a trick title! I cried – but happy tears! And we are working on the higher levels right now as well. So proud of my girl!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
It is hard to believe but it has been a year today since my girl lost her leg. It was one of the worst days of my life having to drop her off at the surgeon that morning.
We have come so far in the last year. She is happy and cancer free (so far at least). We still do a lot of things that I thought we would never do again like walk on the beach. When I first saw people celebrating an “ampuversary” I thought they were crazy. Why would you want to celebrate a horrible day?? But now I get it. We are celebrating how far they have come and how their strength and bravery inspire us every day! Happy 1 Year Ampuversary to be beautiful girl, Kaiserin ❤️
The hot weather is lots of fun but dogs can get sunburn, eye damage and heatstroke from sun exposure. Make sure your pets are given lots of water, kept in the shade and if possible, walk them in the early morning or evening when the sun is less extreme. And owners, wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is the most diagnosed form of cancer in both Canada and the U.S.
